A Joy-Filled Runa Farm Wedding in County Durham | North East Wedding Photography
Every so often, I get the absolute joy of photographing the wedding of someone I already know—and it's always so special. Whether we've crossed paths through work, friends, or random life moments, it’s such a privilege to be the one capturing those big, beautiful milestones.
In this case, I met Dominique through a local running club shortly after moving to the North East—we even ran the Great North Run together! So when she got in touch about photographing her wedding, I didn’t hesitate for a second. It was a big, happy yes from me.
Dominique and Paul chose the stunning Runa Farm in County Durham as the backdrop for their wedding day. Tucked into the countryside, this venue is one of the newer gems from The Apartment Group—and wow, it’s a beauty. With its rustic charm, boho interiors, and relaxed atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot for couples who want something stylish yet laid-back.
Dominique’s dress was a total showstopper—elegant in its simplicity, with bold sleeves that brought so much personality. The colour palette for the day was bright, joyful, and playful, and that energy was woven through everything: from the florals to the confetti, even the smoke bombs we used during the wedding party portraits (a personal favourite!).
The celebration was bursting with entertainment—a magician, a live artist, and even a singing waiter during the wedding breakfast. The whole day was full of laughter, surprises, and nonstop joy, and the photos from the day reflect every single moment of it.
It meant so much to be a part of Dominique and Paul’s Runa Farm wedding. From the emotional vows to the unexpected dance moves, it was the kind of day that reminds me why I love this job so much.
