Helen & Chris | A Windsor Wedding | North East Wedding Photographer
I was asked to photograph this Wedding in behalf of another photographer who lived further South. He explained it would be a 2 day affair in the heart of Windsor for a charming couple who were legally marrying on the Friday and then having a grand party on the Saturday. All hosted at Little Dower House with the Wedding ceremony at Windsor Guildhall. How could I say no?
It was quite the trek down from Newcastle but it was absolutely worth it. This wedding was chic and glamorous with a hint of regality involved with it being in such an iconic town. Helen got ready on the grounds of Little Dower House, the most perfect location for a Wedding. It boasts the best view point of Windsor Castle as well as stretches of perfectly planned ground, including a walled garden and a maze of little walkways leading to swings, streams and beautiful foilage. It really was a dream and I have yet to find a more perfect setting for a countryside Wedding.
Helen got ready surrounded by her closes girlfriends and her mum. They all crammed in to the little cottage where giggles and the pop of bottles echoed throughout. It was exactly how Bridal prep should be in my opinion. Busy but fun. Helen looked outstanding, an absolute vision for Chris as she walked down the aisle. Every detail was timeless.
There was a surprise for Helen’s something blue, a beautiful blue Bentley (once used by the queen!). What a perfect detail to illustrate tradition. Once Helen and the girls were ready we had a moment for photos in the incredible wild flower garden behind the cottage before heading off to the Guildhall.
I didn’t think things could get any better but as soon as I stepped on to the streets of old Windsor and in to the Guildhall I felt amazed by what I saw. Such a traditional and regal building which made us all feel like royalty, even when surrounded by original portraits of royalty themselves. It truly was a beautiful and elegant place to marry, and it made the most perfect photos.
After some confetti throwing outside we made our way back to Little Dower House where Helen & Chris had a meal with their small Wedding party and had a quiet rest of the day.
