Postponed, but perfect.

North East Wedding Photographer

Alex and Phillip booked me a couple of years ago after a lovely little meeting at Mister Woods coffee shop in Tynemouth. We drank coffee and chatted for ages about their Wedding, about them as a couple and about our mutual love for dogs. And I knew from the moment I met them they were the kind of couple I’d love to work with. Head over heels in love with each other and absolutely buzzing at the idea of getting married!

Thankfully, they felt the same way and they chose me to photograph their Wedding. Alex and Phil had originally planned for a Summer Wedding in the most beautiful venue, Branxholm Park. But unfortunately covid got a hold of their plans just like so many other couples, and they moved the Wedding back to December. Not the original plan, but the prospect of a Winter Wedding excited me and Alex in equal measure! Their wedding was smaller than anticipated and with no reception, but it was absolutely perfect.

I never got to do my usual venue visit with Alex and Phil. So instead I made sure to arrive early and scout the location so I could plan where I would position the confetti march, group shots and couple portraits. We were forecast downpours all day and there sure was a downpour on my drive from Newcastle to Scotland! But thankfully there were some pockets of sunshine throughout the day which illuminated the venue and got us out for some beautiful photos!

Branxholm Park is one of the most wonderful venues I have ever visited! Nestled in the countryside close to Hawick, the country house mansion is picturesque to say the least. It’s filled with so many original beautiful features and decoration, and unique quirks I’ve never seen before. Ever seen a toy mouse hotel built in to a wall? Neither had I until this day!

The venue suited Alex and Phil. Classy but a little quirky. And it sure did provide the perfect backdrop for their Winter Wedding. Thanks so much Alex and Phil for choosing me to photograph your Wedding Day, I loved every minute!
