Emily & Jordan - Tyn Dwr Hall

Can you imagine postponing your Wedding FIVE times, and then your 5th Wedding date turns out to be the day that Wales lifts all covid restrictions, so the epic day you have planned from the start can go ahead and all the guests you invited can actually attend? Well this was reality for Emily and Jordan and let me tell you this whole situation made their day feel INCREDIBLE! They even made the bloody news!

Emily and Jordan first reached out to me in 2018 after finding my work. We chatted on the phone and clicked straight away, and the booked me for their original date of April 2020. I don’t think any of us could ever have imagined that a worldwide pandemic would come along and disrupt every single person’s life, but of course it did and Emily & Jordan’s date was slap bang in the height of that first scary lockdown. They postposed multiple times in the end, they actually legally married in early 2021 in a small intimate ceremony, and then we finally got to have the amazing day they originally planned in August 2021.

Emily & Jordan have been together for many years, since school if I remember correctly, and they are most definitely made for each other. Anyone can see they are so in love, and they were unbelievably excited to get married. As they had already legally married before their big Wedding day, they had a humanist ceremony for everyone to be involved with. It was gorgeous, Jordan did an incredible job telling Emily and Jordan’s story and making the ceremony all about the love they share.

The venue was stunning, the details of the day were so personal & thoughtful, the decoration looked beautiful, and of course the couple themselves were glowing. We had some rain but for me that’s never a problem, it provided the perfect mood. It’s hard to go wrong on a day like this as everything just photographs so well!

Sometimes when you photograph multiple Weddings you can start to see the same thing over and over again, which is only natural with trends. But I felt like everything felt so fresh and colourful on this day. Something I had not witnessed before was shots in the speeches, and not just a shot to toast the couple, a tray of shots. Jordan had an embarrassing story about a handful of guests, and after he read each one they had to come up and do a shot. I love the idea and it was so much fun!

I need to say a massive thank you to my second shooter Sally, who was such a support on the day! She is a regular at this venue and her inside knowledge helped me loads. Thanks gal!
