Photographing a Wedding at Bowburn Hall Hotel
I was very excited for this wedding day as it was a venue I hadn’t yet been to, and it did not disappoint!
Stacey & Karl chose to marry in Autumn just before Halloween and the colours on show outside were beautiful. Pair that with the most gorgeous low Autumnal sunshine and everything looked golden. Natural light poured in to the room where Stacey and her bridal party got ready, making it a dream of a room to work in!
Karl chose a gorgeous brown coloured suit with a grey waistcoat and green tie, bringing the autumnal colour scheme in to play across the board. The Grooms party looked fantastic! I especially loved the tankards that Karl had bought his groomsmen as gifts.
Bowburn Hall naturally leans to a cosy shabby-chic vibe, matching the wedding day perfectly. The ceremony room is absolutely gorgeous, playing with shadow and light so well with so much character. The venue offers so much space for a wedding day with it’s stunning outdoor space and bar area, meaning you can host your whole day from prep to party there.
After a very special ceremony we moved out to the bar for a drinks reception before using the outdoor space for some photos of the two of them. I was in heaven utilising those autumnal colours!
Karl and Stacey chose not to have confetti or group shots, which though I do think they are a great part of the wedding day, it was quite refreshing not to follow a shot list. I feel like we’ll see more of this as we step toward a more relaxed and candid approach to weddings.
After a quick speech from Karl dinner was served in the same room that the ceremony took place in, except this time it looked so different. Everything looked magical, and the little pumpkins on the table were a subtle not to the time of year.
Then before we knew it it was time to party! Stacey and Karl’s guests were on top form and filled that dance floor all evening!
