A Spring Wedding Day at Healey Barn

Now this was a day I will remember for years to come.

Lucy & Joe had a Spring wedding at the magical Healey Barn in Northumberland. We all know this is one of my favourite venues in the north east. I adore the location, and the impressive restored barn space with an open fire has a countryside charm to it that I never get bored of. The private courtyard and rolling fields outside are perfect locations for a celebration. It’s so so gorgeous!

Joe is a wheelchair user, so we made a plan before the day of what spaces we would utilise with ease and at which parts of the day. Working together as a team to make these photos happen was really easy at Healey Barn. The space is very accessible and Joe wasn’t limited with access to anywhere.

Lucy and Joe picked a Spring theme with purple as their main colour, which I don’t often see at Weddings, but it fitted the bill perfectly. Of course with Spring comes an array of wonderful florals to play with, and Harriet from Healey flowers did a wonderful job. The tulips! And the hanging flower ball in the barn! Sensational.

The day started at the Stable Cottage, just down the road from Healey Barn. The girls wore Disney pj’s (Lucy is Disney mad!) and drank bucks fizz whilst soaking up the excitement of the day ahead! Thankfully we managed to get outside in between spring showers for some beautiful photos in the garden before leaving for Healy Barn.

The ceremony was stunning, I always love the available light in Healey Barn. Friends and family looked on at Lucy and Joe with teary eyes, it was lovely to witness.

Then it was time for confetti and drinks in the courtyard, before shooting off to the woodlands for some couple photos. I LOVE these photos! It’s a gem of a spot for portraits.

Speeches came before a delicious meal of chicken pie and mash followed by a syrup sponge - epic wedding food! I can confirm the pie was unbelievable.

Lucy & Joe had secretly planned a special first dance, Lucy also had a scooter and her and Joe were going to ride around the dancefloor together. It was SO much fun and the guests were certainly surprised!

A day I would love to relive!
